Filter and Sort in Kanban View

The Filter and Sort options in Kanban View work the same way as in List View, helping users quickly narrow down tasks or reorder them based on key criteria.

1. Filtering Tasks:

  • Click the Filter icon at the top.
  • Select from filters such as Status, Priority, Assignee, or Due Date.
  • Multiple filters can be combined to narrow results further (e.g., High Priority + Assigned to John).
  • The board updates to show only the tasks that match all selected filter conditions.

2. Sorting Tasks:

  • Click the Filter icon at the top.
  • Select any sort option from the quick sorts Due date, Last Updated and Task Name Priority.
  • Sorting applies to the entire board, not individual columns.
  • Sorting and filtering can be used together. For example, users can filter tasks by Assignee and then sort them by Due Date.
  • Cards reorder globally based on the selected sort while remaining inside their respective columns.

Note: Orta also remembers recent filter and sort selections within a project, so users can continue working without needing to reapply their preferences every time.

Together, filtering and sorting make it easier for the user to focus on the most important tasks and keep the board structured.
